Located within the cash handling area of each branch, it serves as the bank’s cash storage facility for such transactions and is typically in a state of active cash inflow and outflow.

2. Definition and classification of business vault products: Based on the approved inventory levels and cash holdings, business vaults are classified into Categories I, II, III, and IV.

Inventory cash of RMB 50 million or more is classified as a Class I warehouse;

Inventory cash ranging from RMB 10 million to RMB 50 million is classified as a Class II warehouse;

Inventory cash ranging from RMB 8 million (inclusive) to RMB 10 million is classified as a Category III business vault.

Inventory cash holdings of RMB 800,000 or less are classified as Category IV business vaults.

3. Construction: The structure is a fully enclosed, six-sided, prefabricated assembly consisting of a vault door and the vault body. The materials used for the vault body, from the exterior to the interior, are as follows:

First floor: 1.0 mm thick stainless steel sheet.

Second layer: 4 mm thick high-quality thick steel plate.

Third layer: 240 mm-thick concrete structural layer (incorporating a mesh of 12 mm-diameter hot-rolled ribbed steel bars, with two overlapping layers spaced at intervals of no more than 150 mm).

Fourth layer: 4 mm thick high-quality thick steel plate.

Fifth layer: 1.0 mm thick stainless steel sheet.

4. Prevention Regulations

C30 or higher-grade concrete is recommended for walls, cast-in-place slabs, and bottom slabs.

For walls, cast-in-place slabs, and bottom plates with a thickness of 240 mm or greater, hot-rolled ribbed reinforcing bars conforming to GB 1499.2 and having an outer diameter of 12 mm or more shall be used in a double-layer, bidirectional mesh configuration, with mesh spacing not exceeding 150 mm.

The compressive strength of the cold storage structure assembly shall be consistent with the strength of the cold storage panels, and no external disassembly or reassembly shall be possible using the general hand tools specified in GB 10409.

A banking operations vault is a cash storage facility established by each bank’s grassroots unit (bank branch) for the purpose of processing routine cash receipt and payment transactions; it serves as an intelligent cash storage system for such operations. The banking operations vault may also be referred to as an intelligent operations vault, operations vault, Category IV vault, bank Category IV vault, or intelligent banking operations vault.

The walls, cast-in-place floor slabs, and base slabs of the bank vault shall be constructed using C30 concrete with a thickness of not less than 240 mm, in accordance with GB 1499.2, and shall be reinforced with hot-rolled ribbed steel bars having an outer diameter of not less than 12 mm, arranged in a double-layer, bidirectional mesh configuration with a mesh spacing of no more than 150 mm. The vault structure shall be equipped with an Class A safe deposit box door, which shall be fitted with two sets of independently operable hardware locks that comply with the relevant requirements of GB 37481-2019. In addition, a protective isolation door shall be installed on the exterior of the vault structure to enable remote guard monitoring.
