Explosion-relief doors shall be installed in the combustion chamber, at the furnace outlet, in the economizer flue, in the flue immediately upstream of the induced-draft fan, in the horizontal flue downstream of the induced-draft fan, or in any flue with a slope greater than 30°. The explosion-relief door must be mounted in a location that does not pose a safety hazard to operating personnel and shall be equipped with a pressure-relief guide duct; no flammable or explosive materials shall be stored in its immediate vicinity. Movable explosion-relief doors must undergo regular manual testing and inspection to prevent them from seizing due to rust.
