Bank Vault Access Control System

Release Date:

2022-03-01

The bank vault management system is designed to meet the requirements of distributed deployment and centralized management for bank vaults and cash storage locations, while also incorporating the concept of off-site bank duty shifts. It employs a two-way authentication mechanism between the local site and the monitoring center to ensure the security of the vault door, implementing an “N+1” authentication model: after the local site’s combined authentication is successfully completed, the monitoring center receives the door-opening request and is granted the authority to open the door; only upon confirmation and verification by the monitoring center will the vault door be opened.

Bank Vault Access Control System

  The bank vault door management system is designed to meet the requirements of distributed deployment and centralized management for bank vaults and cash storage locations, while also incorporating the concept of remote on-duty monitoring. It employs a two-way authentication mechanism between the local site and the monitoring center to ensure vault door security, implementing an “N+1” authentication model: after the local site completes its combined authentication, the monitoring center receives the door-opening request and is granted the authority to authorize the opening; only upon confirmation and verification by the monitoring center will the vault door be opened. In addition, the system integrates an intrusion alarm system and a video surveillance system to effectively prevent unauthorized entry, forced entry, and self-theft. The system also features multi-level alarm functions and comprehensive operation log tracking, further safeguarding vault security.

  II. Application Scenarios for Vault Doors

  1. Access Control for Bank Safe Deposit Box Doors

  2. Access Control for Bank Cash Custody

  3. Access Control for ATM Cash-Loading Rooms

  4. Access Control for the Magazine

  5. Other high-security settings that require remote monitoring and access verification.

  III. Construction Efficiency of Vault Doors

  1. It fully meets the current management requirements for off-site safe-deposit vaults at various bank branches, thereby reducing costs.

  2. Highly integrated: Access control, video surveillance, anti-theft alarms, and voice intercom for the vault management area are consolidated into a single system with a unified interface, significantly simplifying operations for central management personnel.

  3. The system supports customized integration with a wide range of biometric devices, meeting the diverse management requirements of banks, such as fingerprint/vein verification, facial recognition, iris recognition, and palmprint verification.

  4. The system is equipped with features such as low-level alarm notification, low-level alarm interlocking, and offline SMS-based remote door-opening confirmation, ensuring normal business operation even under extreme conditions (when all network connections are completely severed).

  5. The system can interoperate to capture all events and alarms, generate report outputs, and directly retrieve video footage through these reports. Captured data is stored on the server and is not lost due to overwrite caused by the storage cycle of video storage devices.

  IV. Functional Features of the Vault Door

  1. Employs proprietary “N” and “N 1” remote door-opening modes to enhance system security.

  During regular working hours, the door can be opened directly after verifying two fingerprints (or multiple fingerprints). (n-door-opening mode);

  (2) During periods of network connectivity and operational anomalies, after dual-fingerprint verification is successful, the monitoring center will display an door-opening request, along with a live video feed from the site and information about the card-swiping individual. Upon confirmation, the monitoring center will remotely unlock the door via the platform. (N 1 door-opening mode);

  (3) During network outages or periods of abnormal operation, after dual-fingerprint verification, a text message is sent to the supervisor’s mobile phone; the supervisor replies with a text message to unlock the door. (N 1 door-opening mode).

  2. When a worker is held hostage, the system supports password-based or fingerprint-based door unlocking. During forced entry, no alarm output is generated on-site; however, an alarm notification is immediately triggered at the management center upon door opening, thereby ensuring personal safety while providing instant alerting.

  3. The vault door and the isolation/keeper’s door are interlocked, with the interlock relationship configurable. Only one door may be opened at a time; the opening of the vault door can be divided into normal and abnormal time periods, with different verification and authentication methods applied in each period. 4. By enabling both manual and automatic interlocked door-opening functions, it is possible to implement dismantling and security management of the vault.

  5. The time limit for opening the vault door can be specified. As the deadline approaches, the system automatically triggers voice prompts indicating the remaining time and supports custom voice-based alerts and notifications for other events and alarms.

  6. The vault door in the warehouse is integrated with the zone-based alarm system, enabling convenient and coordinated management of the alarm zones.

  Avoid false positives and false negatives.

  7. The deployment and deactivation of the vault can be coordinated with the vault custodian, and can also be managed via deployment of defense terminals;

  8. Multi-System Interlock Control: Customized interlock output control among the vault access control system, alarm system, and video surveillance system. For example, when an alarm is triggered, the platform automatically displays the on-site video feed and records the event, while simultaneously showing the location of the alarm point on the electronic map, along with details of the corresponding security zone deployment and its current defense status. Personnel at the monitoring center can also remotely control access control door operations, such as setting doors to normally open or normally closed modes.
