The smart firearms cabinet comprises a secure firearms safe, a video surveillance and alarm system, and an intelligent control management system. Its functions include: 1) dual-fingerprint recognition to verify the identity of the person opening the cabinet, confirm whether the individual authorized to retrieve a firearm is indeed entitled to do so, and ensure that such authorization has been granted by supervisory authorities; 2) online reporting, approval and authorization processes, network-based monitoring and replication, and online information retrieval; 3) systematic recording of details such as the operator who opened the cabinet, the time of operation, and the use of firearms and ammunition; 4) automatic detection and alerting when firearms are improperly accessed or moved; 5) continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity levels within the cabinet to maintain optimal storage conditions; and 6) automatic alarm activation in response to unauthorized operations, abnormal opening of the cabinet door or lock, or anomalies in the internal environment, with alarm notifications transmitted over the network.


  Video surveillance and networked alarm systems are critical measures for ensuring the security of intelligent firearm and ammunition cabinets. The cabinet shall be equipped with high-definition video cameras capable of capturing clear facial images of personnel operating the cabinet. An externally mounted display shall feature a tamper-proof switch and be integrated with alarms for unauthorized door opening, vibration, and physical destruction, with both local alerts and remote transmission of alarm information via the network. The system must include a high-capacity backup power supply to ensure uninterrupted operation of the cabinet even in the event of an external power failure; the battery backup duration shall meet applicable operational requirements. In addition, the electronic control system shall incorporate a dedicated battery-monitoring module that continuously tracks the status of both the mains power supply and the UPS power source. Should either power source be interrupted, the system will sound an alarm and transmit the alarm signal to the server, which will then notify the relevant management personnel as specified by the server’s protocols. The backup power supply for the intelligent firearm and ammunition cabinet must be fully integrated within the cabinet itself to prevent damage caused by external placement.


  The smart firearm cabinet differs from traditional gun cabinets and is a new type of networked firearm storage solution. The key technologies it employs are as follows: 1. Biometric identification (fingerprint) is used to verify the identity of the person authorized to open the cabinet. Human fingerprints are unique and stable; each individual’s fingerprint pattern is one-of-a-kind. The complexity of the information contained in fingerprint patterns is sufficient for reliable personal identification, and this characteristic remains unchanged throughout life, making it a dependable basis for identity verification. Registering additional fingerprints and recognizing more fingers can further enhance the reliability of the identification results. When scanning a fingerprint, the user must place their finger in contact with the fingerprint sensor. 2. Optoelectronic sensors are used to detect the presence and position of firearms and ammunition within the cabinet. 3. Information encryption and transmission technology is employed. Communication between critical intelligent modules inside the cabinet typically uses RS-232 serial ports or RS-485 fieldbus interfaces. During communication, fixed cryptographic keys can be used for encryption. Communication between the smart magazine and the digital management system utilizes a network interface connection that complies with the TCP/IP protocol, with encryption implemented using algorithms such as AES.
